Blackheart's Wager Tournament
The Blackheart's Wager tournament is held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 21, 2004, and runs for four hours. The "entry fee" is 250 treasure coins found in Pirates of the Spanish Main Game Packs. It does not matter what value the coins add up to; just bring 250 of them! In exchange for your coins, you will receive five Pirates of the Spanish Main busts. These busts (pictured below) represent some of the signature characters in Pirates of the Spanish Main and will also be available via Pirates leagues starting in September. Players will then play for four hours. Each game, they must ante at least one bust (as opposed to treasure coins). Whoever wins the game, per the standard rules, gets the busts that were anted in that game.

So you have to buy a fuck-load of their product and then give it back to them to be in the GenCon tourney. We need some direct action against Hasbro/Wizards.

Oh, wait - we don't have to buy the product. I keep forgeting that I have options.

But I liked thae game, played it on saturday with some friends. Sweet! fun to build the ships, but the packages were difficult to open! Its a bit gimmicky though (those tiny eyestrain dice!), but i think i found a game I can enjoy collecting. And when I am done playing, i pop the peices back into the cards on a hard flat surface with the help of a large D6

I got a few of these at GenCon. I wasn't very excited about them before, but after reading the rules it looks cool.

I got some packs at GenCon too, after trying a demo (they gave out a free one: the pirate ship Revenge!). It's fun. I played with my son (9 yrs old), and he had no troubles.
