Seth is much more of a legal expert than I, but in most states I've lived in it is perfectly legal to provide alcohol to minors in private residences. Sales to minors and the providing to minors privately to a point of endangerment are the only things that could be a problem. Also, attending a party is not the same as drinking at a party. If you were that worried, you could still show and just abstain. Not that it will be an issue anyway, just sayin'.

I don't know about NY but when I lived in PA in college, it was not legal. It was illegal to give alcohol to a minor and they defined that to include allowing them to drink on your property. The result being they forced colleges to police alcohol use on their property or be subject to extremely large fines. Which resulted in pot use going up on campus immensely.

Clarification - by needing 20+, I mean 20+ upvotes and likly we'll do it, the more over 20, the more likly. If everyone's drinking age, that's just a bonus. Got about 15+ so far. We'll see.

Its is not legal to provide alcohol to minors even in a private residence. You can be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. In some cases if one minor shares alcohol with another minor in a house even if the parent is not home the parent can still be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

To that note I'm way over 21 and anywhere there is drinking and dressing up you can usually find me. Warboss can attest to that.

And that is why you don't come to me for legal advice. Granted, I was past an age that it would matter when I moved back to NY, but still... I was still right that attending w/o drinking was ok... for now.
