So, I have been trying to make my first foray into contact lenses since being forced to wear corrective lenses ~5 years ago. I'm finding that thy tend to dry out my eyes relatively quickly, like within an hour or so of putting them in. Do any of you have suggestions on how to help this? I'm sure going to an eye doctor would be my best bet for advice, but I figured I'd hit up you fine nerds for some advice too.

I'd get samples of different kinds and try them out for a week at a time. Part of it is just adapting to wearing them.
I don't mind being played as long as [Megan Fox] keeps saying stuff like "I'll get naked and do a robot to sell movie tickets" cause that's the kind of future I want to live in. -cawshis

Yeah, from my reading it seems like dryness is a pretty common complaint.

If you're using contact lens solution, try a different brand. They have different PHs and certain brands will work better for some people than others.

This was a problem that plagued me for so many years. I feel (and have felt) your pain.

What works for me right now very well: Acuvue Oasys with Hydraclear Plus lenses (they're UV blocking and disposable after a week or two). If I give them a quick Aquify saline squirt & rub after about 5 hours on my eyeballs and put them back in, I'm comfy for a few hours more. Minimal dryness throughout the day.

I used to wear contact lenses, but fear of infection has caused me to simply walk around blind when I want to look attractive.

Fascinating. Alas, at this point I have a 6 month supply of contacts that make my eyes dry almost immediately. I will keep on keeping on and see if my eyes get used to them. Should they stay this way I'll certainly try some of your brand suggestions.
