Jujyfruit Shapes

I had always wondered about the shapes chosen for Jujyfruits. One of them looked like an Art Deco pillar, while another looked like a kidney with biker studs on it. I checked in with the expert on all things...

Ok, what kid doesn't love asparagus? And a pea pod? People were clearly insane back at Heide Candy Co, and it just makes me love this candy all the more for it.

There is green, but now it's lime. They made the change a few year ago. I was not pleased. For the anise inclined, I should clarify that I do like black licorice. However, it is generally commented as being unpopular so I would have thought it would get axed before mint.

Lime?!? Well that is an outrage. (I'm also a fan of mint.) Have you thought about switching to Jujubes?
Oh god, never mind:

The manufacturer's website states that "Jujubes, known for their hard, break-glass quality texture, began production in 1920. Original flavors included lilac, violet, rose, spearmint, and lemon. Rose and spearmint have been changed to cherry and lime, as a result of flavor availability." Thus, the current flavor lineup is lemon (yellow), orange (orange), lime (green), cherry (red), and grape (purple).

And lime creep has even hit DOTS!

Current flavors for "original dots" include cherry, strawberry, lemon, lime, and orange.

That green flavor is supposed to be lime? All this time I pictured it as vaguely lame mint.

Also, until you posted this thought the pineapple was a fish. Hey, it makes as much sense as asparagus.
