Book 3 is out today! I am abandoning my previous reserve and starting immediately.

I am still on book one for this. For whatever reason it just isn't grabbing me. I'm not disliking it per se, I just don't feel compelled to keep reading. Part of the issue is that I have yet to connect with any of the characters. So far the Ixchel are my favorites, but even they are only OK. Another issue I am having is that I'm 3/4 of the way through and only now do I feel like the story is really progressing. It's like he's used the first 3/4ths to set up the beginning of the intro to a story and now is using the end to set up the next book. So, here I am on page 389 of 506 after months of reading and I'm not sure I want to go further.

No need to apologize. You've turned me on to good books in the past. For some reason this one just isn't grabbing me. Like I said, I wouldn't go so far to say I don't like it, but rather that it just hasn't piqued my interest.

I finished the third book a few weeks ago. I like them - not blown away by them, but am looking forward to the fourth.
