Currently fighting with this bug.
This is unbelievable...

Bahaha
One solution for the bug in this quest might cause the following according to the fallout wiki:

It is possible that before reporting to the Ranger for the first time, many members of the audience will be stripped bare of all of their clothing and will stand there in their underwear during the speech.

When I did that quest I Disabled the bomb on the helicopter and I killed the sniper, but I had no idea there was a third attempt on the presidents life,it never came up. weird huh? I just finished the quest without having to foil that attempt.

I dont know yet how to solve this bug and can therefor not proceed in the game.
I will go trough a list of possible solutions tomorrow, but I seriously hate it when major bugs like that come up very close to the ending of a game, distroys aaaalll the atomsphere that has built up over time for me... :-(((

Ok i cant finish this damn game. The quest with the president is so bugged, I dont know what to do anymore. I managed to fix the bug, and now "For the Republic: part 2" isnt working either. This sucks so much....

I suppose you didn't keep a save pre presidential quest huh? I accidentally finished the game, and I didn't save in a place where I can go back and check out all the stuff I missed.

Actually you only have to foil one attempt out of any of them - then speak to the ranger - and you succeed in the quest

I had to load an old save game BEFORE I take the quest from Yes man right after I killed Mr. House (that old fart!). I had to take the quest from theNCR - the bug forced me to choose the NCR, but in theend I succeeded and killed the fuck out of Legatis. That was sadisfying, but I wish I could have killed Cecar in the end. Fallout3 and this one both had unsadisfying ending for me. Not epic enough....

It's funny, when I finished Fallout 3 I couldn't wait to play it again to tweak what I did in order to arrive at a different ending. I don't have that compulsion this time. The ending was just a disappointing list of things that you pretty much already knew.

I finished it siding withthe NCR, house and yourself. The last had the best ending. I'm not sure I can face siding withthe legion.
