I've been taking fiber supplements with my meals for 8 years or so. It don't do it for metabolic reasons, but I'm wondering if they help keep my weight reasonable despite a sedentary job and little exercise.

You might also want to try adding Kiwi to your diet. It's got more vitamin c than an orange, and more potassium than a banana. I was unaware of that info, until I saw a special on pbs about going an all vegan diet for diabetics. They're not too sweet, but still flavorful.

There's this great bulk food store in Brooklyn I go to, and they sell dried Kiwi. It says it's made with "sulfur" though. I'm unsure as to if sulfur is bad for you or not.

Sulfites are a standard treatment for dried fruit, just as they're added to practically all wine. It's bad for you if you're allergic to sulfite.

Oh, and "kiwifruit" is a marketing term introduced by growers in New Zealand, where the fruit isn't even native. A more authentic name is "hairy bush fruit."
