so, i saw the place.

Pros:
  • transportation- I got there from my place(E.Williamsburg) in 20 min - 5 trains(F,G,M,N and R) and the BQE all are easy to get to
  • it's a big "L" so one group could be in one part of the space and not have to worry aboutt he other group - we might not have build anything
  • food and stuff in area
  • april 1st move in
Cons:
  • no bathroom
  • right below family's residence - so we couldn't be noisy late

Hmm.

Sounds like those two might be dealbreakers. Especially the lack of bathroom.

How could there be no bathroom?! That's slightly odd. I mean, you could ration all drinks during game play, but is there a diner or something nearby that you think would be nerd.bathroom friendly?

Is there a shared bathroom in a hallway where we would need a seperate key? I just refuse to believe there would be no bathroom. I guess BYOB your own empty Snapple bottles it would have to be.

Yeah, unless we institute the waste corner policy, or we all bring bedpans, the lack of any bathroom sounds like a big deal. I think we should honestly have a sitdown where everyone who is interested in joining in on the GGG space and discuss the issues inherent in getting a space. Namely;

Who is paying what?
What are people's criteria for what they want for their money?
What are the rules of the space, if any?
Where are we willing to go?

I think the last question is something we should all be lenient on, because there are many people who live far from any place central, and not all of these people live particularly close to each other. I think the expectation that we can find a central space within 45 minutes of everyone interested is unlikely and should be tossed around to see how important it is to people. As it is I travel anywhere from 45 min to an hour to get to gaming, so it's not a big deal for me. Anyhow, I think once we get all of this down we'll know exactly who is really interested in a practical sense, rather than in a theoretical "sounds fun" idea sense.

My last suggestion is that we pool some money together for all interested parties so that if we find a place that is suitable to the needs that we establish we can take it rather than having to deliberate about it on the boards for several days...(This was brought up to me by Emukt and it sounded like a good idea)

Anyhow, that's my 2 cents on the issue. I really think that's the minimum we need to due to make this a reality.
