we all understand the emergencies and folks having real life stuff - no one expects people to come at the expense of the things that matters.
that you came to the sessions after you found out about the family emergency shows the commitment you have to your players.

otherwise, i think GMs should pass on running a game at GGG if they know ahead of time that they're going to miss more than one session. players aren't paying to be in a game, but to participate in a community event.

i think there is something great about playing with people you really like (or, in our case, really hate) as opposed to people you just met at some con, and that's what GGG is starting to be about.
