Or, if you prefer something that's SciFi, watch "Threshold."

My impression. Of tywin lannister in the books was as the fantasy novel equivalent of doctor doom (i mean that in a good way) and I'm glad that came through in the series. His armor after the battle of greenfork was beyond epic

And I'm done.

Net effect,

1. I'm looking into how much HBO costs. Probably not...
2. Mrs Idiot is seriously considering reading the books! WTF? She's never read sci fi or fantasy in her life
3. Little Idiot Jnr is unchanged except for puzzling over what 'that was ill done' means with respect to sticking his hand down his diaper.

Final comments...

1. No one says 'that was ill done' that I can tell. Is this not in the first book?
2. Mrs Idiot was all 'NO!' when Ned bit the dust
3. Roz - not in books that I can remember, is this just a means of shoe-horning in more naked women?
4. Until Robb came galloping up that hill looking all kingly I wasn't sold on him as a suitable actor. Now I am. The same can not be said of Jon Snow.
5. The camera drag back from Danni at the end looked amateurish. Look! They are in a field!
6. Hotpie!
7. Bronn is awesome.
8. I'm starting to forget about Tyrion's poor accent
9. Varys > LittleFinger
10. The relationship between The Hound and Sansa is not looking like it's going to be as creepy as in the books. I hope so because I yearned for a more father-daughter relationship between the two.

I think so.

Yep. He really grew on me.

Hotpie! Syrio! Hotpie! Syrio!

"No. But he did." Awesome.

I really love that actor. I don't even know who he is but he's great.

Yeah, but I liked the creepy factor - it was like the Hound was trying to think about Sansa like a ward but couldn't quite reign in his nature. Made for a far more interesting relationship between them. I still don't think he's as creepy as he could be, but he also grew on me a bit.

In the books, the relationship between Loras and Renly was implied. I didn't even really get it until I saw them full on being lovers in the show. I went back into the book and suddenly it became quite clear to me. I believe that this was actually the episode that George RR wrote, too.

HBO surely loves the (s)exposition!

Don't get too upset. GoT was what got us to subscribe too.

You're not alone.

I subscribed last year for GoT and cancelled once it was done, and just resubscribed day before yesterday.

Season 2 update!

Episode 1

- Tyrion's comment that war seems to suit Cersei is bang on. She looks much more vibrant in this season. More like the Lena Headey I adore.
- Stannis - not buying the actor. He's a bit foppish. I imagine him as slightly less intimating than Robert. This guy doesn't look like he could fight his way out of a paper bag
- Davos - spot on
- Melissandre - not spooky and beguiling enough
- More 'Roz' cathouse tales'?
- The rooting out of Robert's bastards upset me deeply. Could have done without that
- Craster - not feral enough, nor is his keep.
