The Plaguebearers are done:

The swords were finished off with the application of drips of pestiferous snot, made of 50/50 white glue and gel matte medium, with a touch of green and yellow inks. The effect is a bit more subtle than I was shooting for, and I probably should go over them one more time to thicken the snot. Here's an example where it came out pretty well:

The snot also contributes to the goo that's choking up the trumpet:

This guy has snot coming out of his nose, covering his mouth. I like that you can see his upper teeth through it:

You can also make out some snot on the tip of this Herald's sword:

This is another Herald with a standard I sculpted, the Shit-Snake. It really didn't look that good until I covered the whole thing in a thick layer of goo. Now I'm pretty happy with it.

Here's the other standard I made, the Maggoty Banner:

The maggots need some more work to make them look less like bananas, but I've pretty much declared victory and moved on to painting the Dreadfleet.

How did I make the bases? I'm glad you asked. It's a mixture of vinyl household spackle and gel matte medium, with brown acrylic paint mixed in. So right off the bat, these bases are colored - no need to paint. I then finished off with a wash of - what else? - Devlan Mud.

Devlan Mud is the best!

Very impressive boredoom! The shit snake is especially shitty.

I think adding some texture to those maggots with devlan mud might make them look less like bananas. Or just add MOAR SNOT!
