Warhammer Day 11/21 (Sun)

Fighting huge battles with tiny men!

Postby Coredump on Fri Oct 22, 2010 1:02 pm

Well, two days were tied, so I picked the later one figuring it would give folks more time to plan.

If we start early-ish we can get more games in. Can folks make it at 10am? We can stay as late as folks want.

So, what pionts limit? The lower the more games we can get in.
There are supposed to be 3 or so missions for each race, I think the tyranid ones are:
1. breakfast
2. lunch
3. dinner

How many rounds do you think can be done in that time?

I'm a big fan of 2000 point games, personally

Gaylord, that is a big "It Depends".

Tournaments get 3 games played in less time than that, but they will often call games before they are done, and give little time for terrain and deployment, etc.
We tend to chit chat, take long lunch, etc. Also depends on points.

If we play 2K points, we should be able to get in 2 games.
If we play 1K points, and don't waste time... maybe 5 games. (Especially if play on 4x4 tables.)

I just like to play, so any pt value is fine with me. Warboss just likes 2K because then he can use all 4519 models of his Ork army. :D

I like 1850-2000 point games as well as then you get to play with all the nice toys without gimping yourself, but I'll be happy just playing. I'll probably have multiple lists between 1k and 2k anyways.

I will make every attempt to attend, though terrain is not at all something I can contribute this time around.

Is this place accessible by train?

I'm going to try to rope some of the guys I play with regularly to attend. Looking forward to it.

Oh, and where is it?

I'll just go and stuff. Maybe I'll see if the Metro folks want to come, too?

I've built around 20 pieces of alien jungle so far and will have completed something like 50 to 70 pieces of cityfight and jungle stuff combined by the time game comes around. Tomorrow I will post pics of some of the jungle pieces I've completed already. So terrain, as long as folks don't mind hills, ruins, and brown/red/pink jungles and giant flowers, is all taken care of.

And yes, I like games that allow me to use all 200+ of my boyz, but I'll go with whatever group conscience decides.

Location is the Brooklyn Army Terminal. The vehicle entrance is at the 'corner' of 1st Ave and 58th St. The nearest train is the R/N line at 4th Ave and 59th St.

For more details...

Those are directions dealing with the SCA fight practice, but the info is the same. If driving, be sure to remember it is Quality Conservation.

As we get closer, I will work with folks to get terrain here.
