The experiment was to try a grayscale to color process, so I added two textures, rock and metal, since things sometimes can look too plastic. I made it a simple figure to not overwhelm myself and to keep focus, gathered reference and took off working. I'm working on teaching myself digital painting and expanding my illustration skills!

What a crazy and hard to draw perspective! Especially the face works well and the grab on the sword looks solid.
Cool stuff!

I'm impressed with your enthusiasm to experiment and self teach... and I'm impressed with the results!

What areas do you want to expand you illustration skills in?

Have you considered learning tools like Zbrush?

This is pretty sweet. Out of curiosity, what was the tool you used? Is it all digital or did you just color it in digital?

This is a bit closer to what kind of a direction I would like to try for a bit. The other piece looks too tortured. This one has more fun and a more painterly feel to it. I would have added more pieces to show stuff, but I have some art jobs, which makes my heart super happy!

zuk, jenskot, queenmob, Frank, eppy: thank you!

Cawshis: all digital, though I could just as easily have included a hand drawn stage, its just quicker to do it all on computer rather than scan, work on paper, etc..
