Postby Pillar on Fri May 13, 2011 10:47 pm

On FRIDAY, June 10th, 7:00-11PM, NerdNYC will hold its next Board Game Night.

Bring any game you want, enjoy the company of your fellow nerds and eat delicious foodstuffs!
ThinkCoffee also sports an excellent wine and beer bar!

We'll be meeting @:
THINKCOFFEE (Mercer Street)
Think Fair Trade
Think Organic
Think Shade Grown

248 Mercer Street
(between 3rd and 4th Streets)
New York, NY
here's a Google map.
just a few short blocks from the B, D, F, A, C, E, R, N, and 6 trains.

take the A, C, E to West 4th Street
take the B, D, F, or V train to Broadway/Lafayette
take the 6 train to Astor Place or Bleecker Street.
take the N, R to 8th Street

GAME ADMISSION:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FREE!!!!*
*thinkcoffee respectfully requests that you purchase something from their wide variety of drinks and vegan-friendly foodstuffs.

GENERAL QUESTIONS:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PM Pillar or post here.

GAMES:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please post if you are attending, and list the games you intend to bring so that people can get all excited!

NOTE: Table space at ThinkCoffee is always at something of a premium. We do the best we can, but it is probably better to avoid bringing games that require lots of table space, or ones that take more than 3 hours to finish. Save those games for other events like Recess!

NOTE: Like all of our events, no experience is necessary to participate. We ask that everyone who brings a game be ready to explain the rules to newcomers.

GAME ON!

Yes!

The last few Boardgame Nights have exceeded 35 people. Many of our regulars do not post on the forums very often.

I see, I was hoping to get an idea what games were going to be present, and maybe briefly look up their rules before showing up. What's popular at these board game nights?

Anyone interested in Icehouse? I need to brush up prior to Origins.

[this is the original game -- a real time diplomatic strategy game also involving timing, physical precision, and spacial judgement -- the game is timed, so games take about 15 minutes].
