[Recess] this Saturday, Sept 11th!

NerdNYC's quarterly gaming event

I had a great time. It was good to run something after about 2 years of not being able to game (got to play last Recess, which was fun as well). I'm glad I had the chance to be a part of this; I'd say this was as much fun as when I ran Cat for the kids a few years ago.

Just wanted to say that I had a really terrific group for Fortune's Fool in the second slot.
These guys were game and just dove (dived?) in!
They were very patient with new rules and with my TERRIBLE mapping skills!

Thanks to my players - and to the Recess crowd for setting it up!

Thanks to Gaylord500 and the other players for a great game of Top Secret with a twist of Cthulu! I really had a blast! I want o play more Top Secret, more stuff with Gaylord, and more games where I can be a sexy spanish spitfire code-named Weasel, then get killed in hail of gunfire, then come back as zombie, then try to kill my team leader, then get my head blown off with a shotgun, then have the ship I was on blown up by the Navy. When's the next game like that?

Also thanks to jenskot for facilitating an extra Ravenloft table. Death to Strahd! oh, wait.

Are those Nerd NYC stickers in the bottom left hand corner? And are there any left?

It was pretty amusing watching stairwells get redrawn for the fourth time, I must admit. It was the first time I got to sit down at a RPG table in all my years of Recess-ing. Thanks for making it a good experience.

As expected, Recess was yet again a resounding success IMHO. Being on one floor and 3 rooms was immeasurably beneficial. It really felt like Recess again. Thanks to all for being who you are!

Thanks to everyone for a wonderful time!

Oh yeah, I wanted to mention that too! And the map was not only spectacularly cool as souvenir, it genuinely helped me find my places and helped give a sense of the event as a whole. Maybe it needs to be right-themed for subsequent events (though it's always Back the Old School in my heart) but I'd like there to always be one, even if Recess goes back to BRIC.

They are! I think we have a few left. I can look into bringing them to the next boardgame night!
