Which e-reader should I get?

Yep, a lot of them are in epub formats and some others I'm not familiar with.

I just tried loading an HTML book on a Nook Tablet, and it worked fine. I think that means it will work on a Nook Color as well.

I don't read comics much, and I like the e-ink technology because I find it easier on the eyes than ipads.

Basically, I want an e-book, something that comes as close to a book as possible for reading, but is light and can hold many books. I think the kindle simple touch is the best option for me. I wish it wasn't locked into amazon, but what can I do? I don't want to read on a screen because that gives me headaches.

Have you tried dialing down the screen brightness to minimum and setting a non-white background?

I have fooled around with settings, but I'm pretty sold on the e-ink technology. I like the way it reads, and I don't need a reader that I can browse the web or watch videos with, so I think this is one of the few times in my technology shopping career that the cheaper option is also the better option in terms of functionality.

Of note is that he found the Kindle Touch to be really slow, particularly in comparison to the base model Kindle.

I've grown used to it now, but the weight of the iPad was a bit of an issue when I first got it and read on it.

By the time I finished the 5 SoI&F books, I had fingers with muscles, so I don't notice it as much anymore.
