Love it! I'd seen the second half stuff about the seeing around corners before but the first half was way more interesting and cool to me than the corner bounce stuff. And way better understanding now of what was going on in the corner bounce stuff now. The coke bottle and tomato vids are really amazing.

i like the fact that since they're filming at near the speed of light, there is a time distortion happening that the computers need to compensate for, pretty amazing!

I didn't understand that part. Wish there was a more detailed explanation about the distortion.

Here's the caveat on this one

It's not really filming at a trillion frames a second - rather more like a strobe light illusion, where they take a thousands of pictures of the same thing happening a thousand times, each picture offset by a picosecond. Then cut and paste it into an animation that looks like a single continuous shot slowed down as thought it was shot at a trillion frames a second.

Still really cool though

Yea the video actually explains that well I thought and that the seeing around corners wasn't just one "look" either but many separate "photon bullets" sent out and a composite built from all the data.

The article you linked is also right about the use of the phrase "seeing photons" as being wrong in the vid. I picked that up right away as bad terminology but still thought what they were doing was cool.
