Played a lot of the main quest up to getting into New Vegas.
rad scorpions tend to get stuck in rocks. But they can get unstuck.
This time it pays to specialize AND generalize. Even if you use a mod that allows for 1 perk per level- There are very few skill books and speach/lockpick/hacking challenges are harder. I generalized across the board and he couldn't do anything and got killed a lot compared to my FO3 characters. I had one companion that specialized in unarmed and she was a killing machine compared to me.
The game just crashes to desktop randomly - I've heard it has something to do with the autosaves eventually corrupting. So-
MANUALLY SAVE ALL THE TIME!!! For some reason crashing then continueing can just ignore a zillion auto saves and put you back to some long forgotten autosave.
It takes a while to get a home in this game so go on Fallout New Vegas Nexus and get a mod (Increasedcarryweight or Increased carry weight) that will allow you to carry more weight. I got the one that changed my 200 limit to 400 but even that was not enough so I got the other one that made it 2400. If you do that you can carry one of each vanilla weaon which you want to do because of all the weapon modifications you can use. You also want to keep lots of recipe ingrediants on hand. And lots of chems
Talk extensively to everyone. Especially companions.
stay away from mountains! The monsters there aren't scaled to your level at all.
In new vegas main strip be VERY CAREFULL in the NCR station!!!! I opened a double door onthe 2nd floor that wasn't marked red and all the NCR guys went nuts and attacked me. I ran out to the street hoping to get help from the police bots but they joined in too! I went back to a previous save and tried to just talk to the door guards and they all attacked me again and chased me thru the strip. It must be a bug.
Unarmed and Melee actually matter in this game.
crafting in a lot easier and more extensive and interesting. But constantly taking apart and creating bullets gets frustrating after a while. Just cheat. Or cheat for regular ammo but buy or make specialized ammo.
hacking and lockpicking- just get a cheat. There are cheats that will allow you to easily open something if your corrosponding skill is high enough.
repairing - you can repair a weapon to full health without a high repair skill. perhaps a high skill allows you to get more out of the stuff you are repairing with. It also unlocks excelent perks.
I'm not an actor but I play one on TV.
